Will AI replace your job? π Gartner predicts that Generative AI will create more job opportunities rather than diminish them. π
GenAI will have a big impact on many jobs, but it’s unlikely to fully replace them in the short- to medium-term. Instead, it will lower the technical skills needed for many roles, broadening the candidate pool. I believe it will open up new opportunities for many people.
At the same time, current roles will require other skills, like interacting with GenAI tools and using it for the right things.
For jobs in technology, the focus will shift more and more towards creativity and innovation. I also see many challenges and risks that come along with being able to write “working” code without the need to understand it: it is not an efficiency gain if the quality is π©.
This year, especially for non-Tech jobs, it’s crucial for leaders to evaluate their teamsβ way of working and skill development plans to keep up with GenAI advancements and advantages and disadvantages that come with it. If you don’t, others will π.
Some big questions remain: How do we train our people to use GenAI effectively? How do you think will it impact your job or industry? And what risks do you see? What do you think of my new comic drawing skills?
